Tricep Pushdown Resistance Exercise

Performing an effective Tricep Pushdown exercise will work on muscles in the back of the upper arm, the Tricep brachii.

Instructions:

  • \"\"Adopt a comfortable standing position with your back straight.
  • Your feet should be positioned in a shoulder width stance.
  • Take a grip of the handle with a closed overhand grip (pronated), your hands should be approximately 6-12 inches apart.
  • In a smooth controlled motion push the bar down until your arms are straight (elbow extension)
  • Keep your wrists rigid and elbows into your body. 
  • The cable should be vertical to the floor,allow the bar to rise up (elbow flexion) to approximately 90 degrees and return back to the start position.
  • Throughout the exercise maintain the spine in neutral keeping the elbows off lock and the eyes forward.
