Tricep Extension Resistance Exercise

Performing an effective tricep extension will work on muscles in the back of the upper arm. Primarily the tricep brachii.

Instructions:

  • \"\"Adopt a comfortable seated position with your back straight.
  • Your upper arms should be resting on the pad appoximately shoulder width apart. Your elbows should be in line with the pivot points of the machine. 
  • You will need to adjust the seat to determine this position.
  • Grip the bars with a closed neutral grip (inverted) your arms should be bent (elbow flexion).
  • In a smooth contolled movement fully straighten your arms (elbow extension)
  • At the end slowly return the bars back to the start position.
  • Throughout the exercise maintain the spine in neutral, elbows off lock and eyes forward.
