Lying Hip Flexor Stretch
Performing an effective stretch of the hip will help to prevent injury to muscles in the upper front thigh including the Hip Flexors.
Instructions:

In a side lying position with both legs straight;- and your head supported on the lower (extended) arm;
- tilt the pelvis anteriorly.
- Maintain a neutral spine and knees off lock throughout.
- Bring one heel into the buttocks;
- holding onto the foot.
- Gently pull your thigh backwards;
- ensuring your knee comes away from your lower leg;
- which should be sightly bent.
- The stretch should be felt in the hip flexors.
